Commercial use of the PHOENIX

I would like to see widespread use of the open-baffle-with-dynamic-drivers and build-in crossover/equalizer/amplifier concept. What was demonstrated with the PHOENIX project could serve as a guide for a line of active loudspeaker systems, all using open-baffle and dynamic driver technology.

A cosmetically refined version of the PHOENIX might even be added to an existing product line of "box" speakers and provide an extension into the highest performance arena. As currently designed, and with a material cost of around $2,000, including IC amplifiers, but not labor and overhead, such product would have to retail above $15,000 to meet the typical profit and trading margins.

Please contact me via e-mail to discuss consulting or licensing arrangements, should you want to draw on the PHOENIX design.

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself
but what has drawn your attention
in the streams of superimposed air pressure variations
at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space
Have they been recorded and rendered sensibly?
